Small Works 2026 is a vibrant mix of pieces from all sorts of artistic disciplines. Painters, printmakers, sculptors, illustrators, ceramic artists, and everything in between have poured their hearts into creating these intimate, smaller format works.

‘Ebb & Flow’ the coming and going of seasons, the rhythm of life, the gentle shift in direction, Ebb and Flow captures the beauty in movement and change.
This exhibition celebrates the perpetual cycles that shape our world and our lives: the tide’s retreat and return, the unfolding of leaves and their quiet fall, the ebb of rest and the flow of creation.
This Exhibition I focused on wild local clay dug 150m from my studio in Kaipara, making texture that I have observed in nature and giving it a linear form.

Ties that bind is a exhibition featuring MGTOs’ collective of artists, where they delve deep into the often complex influence that relationships with people and place can have on their creative practice. Through personal storytelling and shared cultural threads, they reflect on their heritage, memory, connection, and the invisible bonds that shape our identity. This exhibition reveals how friends & family and place leave a lasting imprint on how we see, feel, and create. Ties that bind is a peek behind the studio doors.
After Dark is a new group exhibition showcasing the work of MGTOs’ collective of artists. Drawing on the theme of nocturne, dreams, and moonlight, each artist has created artwork to reflect what ‘After Dark’ means to them. We invite viewers into a world that stirs after sundown. Capturing the beauty of the moody hours between dusk and dawn—where shadows stretch long, the moon glows, and the line between reality and sleep begins to blur. From luminous glazes to inky atmospheres After Dark offers a exploration of the nights quiet magic.

‘Small Works 2025’ offers a diverse collection of new works from both renowned artists and fresh, emerging talents. This showcase is a treasure trove for collectors and art lovers alike. The smaller format provides artists with an exciting opportunity to explore new themes and techniques, while collectors can discover and acquire affordable, high-quality pieces from both established names and promising newcomers.
